Coconut Shell Ship Model

Rigged sailing ship in shell, bamboo and cotton twine

1,299

30 × 12 × 32 cm · 350 g

Description

A three-masted sailing ship with a hull cut from two shells and eleven sails shaped from shell offcuts, rigged with cotton twine on bamboo spars. The largest and slowest thing we make — a single ship takes an artisan the best part of a week.

A display piece rather than a toy. It stands on a turned shell foot and needs no fixing.
